Event overview
ASoP will be hosting a series of in-person gatherings across Australia to hear directly from psychiatrists and trainees about the state of our profession.
As part of this national listening tour, members of the ASoP leadership team will travel state by state to meet with colleagues working in a wide range of settings and communities. These informal events are an opportunity to share perspectives, ideas and concerns about the challenges facing psychiatry today — and the opportunities ahead.
Each evening will include a short presentation from ASoP about who we are, what we've been working on, and some of our plans for the year ahead. The majority of the time will be devoted to open discussion with attendees.
Most importantly, we want to listen.
We know psychiatrists across Australia are working in very different environments and systems of care. Through these conversations, we hope to better understand the issues that matter most to psychiatrists and trainees — from workforce pressures and service design to advocacy challenges, and the future direction of psychiatric care.
These gatherings will be held in relaxed venues with drinks and light refreshments, creating space for thoughtful discussion and connection with colleagues.
Join us as we take the conversation around the country — state by state.
