ASoP was delighted to launch our State by State listening tour in Brisbane with an open and constructive discussion about the challenges and opportunities facing psychiatry today.
It was fantastic to see the room full of Brisbane and Gold Coast psychiatrists, with strong engagement from clinicians working across public and private practice, subspecialty services and different career stages. The discussion covered a wide range of issues important to psychiatrists and the patients we serve, including workforce pressures, service capacity, access to care, professional advocacy and the future direction of mental health services in Queensland and nationally.
Events like these are an important opportunity for psychiatrists to connect with colleagues, share experiences from the frontline and help shape ASoP's advocacy priorities. We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed their insights.
The Brisbane forum was part of ASoP's ongoing commitment to listening directly to psychiatrists across Australia and ensuring that the profession has a strong and effective voice in shaping the future of mental healthcare.
