ASoP launch!

The Australian Society of Psychiatrists (ASoP) is a member-based, not-for-profit organisation which advocates for the provision of best practice mental health care across Australia and ensures psychiatrists have a strong and effective voice in driving this critical change.

Mental health care delivery is in a perilous state throughout Australia. There is an immediate crisis relating to inadequate funding, services, and workforce.

There is a compelling need for a national entity which focuses squarely on advocating for the care of people with severe and complex mental illnesses and raising awareness about the critical role of psychiatrists.

ASoP will function as a central go-to body for government in formulating policy, for media when expert commentary is required, and for mental health peak bodies to partner with.
